Since Google announced it's frontal attack on Facebook, (I wouldnt have done it that way but I think google is still pretty full of themselves and thinking they can bring down the 800 lb gorilla just cuz they think they are still "cool"), the social media arena has really been heating up.
Now that everyone knows what some in the online promotion industry has known for a long time now, even the doubters want social media and soon!
See, here's the thing. Every business in the world already has a social media presence and every business is already having its organic seanrch placements affected by that presence. Its just that some companies choose to ignore that fact while others embrace it as a marketing vehicle.
The blikini social media management platform has always been at the leading edge of this technology because we KNEW search was going to have to start implementing aspects of social dialogue into their algorithms because conversation is more relevant than link trading. Now that Google is far more interested in taking away Facebook's thunder than they are interested in the end users experience, I guess they decided to announce that Google+ influences SOME results. Dont kid yourself, now that they can track everyone everywhere which increases click thru value, and now that the cloud empowers them, its all about increaseing their own reach further than Facebook's. Good luck with that!
The ad wars dont really concern us. What does concern us is personalization, geo targeting and now social interactions and comments. Now that you and I could sit in the same room, search for the same term on different computers and get different results based on our previous searches, downloaded pages AND SOCIAL COMMENTS SAYING WHAT TO WHOM AND WHAT GOOGLE KNOWS ABOUT THEM, its no longer about checking ranking, its more about getting your link in front of as many eyeballs who have demonstrated some interest in the theme of our content as possible.
Here's what that means to the general commercial websites. You want as many people as possible talking about what you sell or do and hopefully mentioning you by name, (links are no longer the ONLY signal BTW), or providing links to your site, AND you want those people who go to your site to stay there and engage with your content. The more people do that, the more likely google will show your link in the organic results to more people who have done something to show an interest in the same keyword.
In other words, they are going to put sites at the top they know will interest other people expressing an interest in the same thing that they trust to further engage that person. They are going to be showing their paid ads all over their own properties which includes travel sites, fashion sites, auto sites, tickets, accounting, webhosting, financial aid, loans, PLUS gmail, you tube, picasa, and I predict it wont be long before you'll start seeing their paid ads in google docs, analytics, webmaster central and just about EVERYTHING else of Google's you use. And you thought all that stuff was free.
So I hope you see where your site fits into the value chain. They want every site they offer to get the user closer to a buying decision and that means they have to trust a site to do that and that means tracking how many pages people look at in your site, how long they stay on your site, if they book mark your site, (a biggee BTW), AND IF PEOPLE THEY TRUST IN RELATION TO THAT SPECIFIC KEYWORD ARE TALKING ABOUT YOU.
That is what blikini was all about from the beginning. It's about making it easy for people to comment on your blog and when they do, we automatically post for them on their own social networks so that people who talk to you, with one sign up step also talk ABOUT you to their network of friends and family. The odds their network would be trusted for at least some of the same things as the commenter is much higher than running bots to try to "friend" everyone on twitter, (google knows who is running those scripts from where and why now BTW).
In addition to having 16 highly popular social platforms that include Facebook, twitter, linkedin, digg, stumbleupon, flickr and yes, Google +, we now have in place a way that commenters wishing to join your blikini blog can automatically sign into all 16 platforms just using one username and password.
All password data is encrypted so no human can see without my knowing they were trying to access the code, but when you sign into facebook or google+ or linkedin or twitter, we spider the profile, then using whatever password you logged in with, we create accounts using your data and the encrypted password to any platform we use that you dont already have an account at. So their comment now generates 16 links to your site everytime, everyone who makes a comment posts! That includes video, audio files and very soon mobile files as well all done with with one login! This makes blikini one of the most easily manageable yet extremely powerful social marketing platform in the world!
